Learning to study

Plan your week in five steps

Good planning saves stress. These steps work for every subject.

  1. Write everything in one place

Note homework, tests and deadlines straight away in class, in one diary or planner.

  2. Cut big tasks into small ones

Split a test into blocks of twenty to thirty minutes and spread them over several days.

  3. Start with the hardest

Do the most difficult subject first, while your head is still fresh. The easy work can follow.

  4. Quiz yourself

Put your book away and write down or say out loud what you know. Rereading alone is not enough.

  5. Look ahead every Sunday

What is coming this week, and what takes the most time? Put that in your planning first.

Stuck? Bring your planning to Kid's College and we will look at it together.
