General Terms and Conditions of Kid’s College for 2026–2027.
Article 1
The general terms and conditions apply to all agreements that Kid’s College concludes with a parent/guardian.
Special provisions that deviate from the general terms and conditions apply only if they are included in the registration forms of the parents/guardians. The general terms and conditions are provided to the parent/guardian together with the registration form.
Article 2
Kid’s College provides homework support for students in VMBO (years 1 to 4), MAVO (years 1 to 4), HAVO (years 1 to 5), VWO (years 1 to 6) and MBO (years 1 to 4), as well as tutoring in various subjects by arrangement.
Article 3
Registration and re-registration for support is for an indefinite period, with a notice period of 1 month. Registration takes place by handing in a fully completed and signed registration form, accompanied by a copy of an ID of the student and of the parent/guardian. The returned registration form is an irrevocable offer by the undersigned to enter into a support agreement. The agreement is concluded upon confirmation by Kid’s College. Support means any form of homework support.
Article 4
Homework support: students attend Kid’s College one, two, three, four or five times a week, for two and a half (2.5) hours each time during the day, or on Monday and Wednesday evenings, or for two hours of mathematics on Saturday, or for two hours on Sunday.
Article 5
Homework support: one supervisor is present for every 8 students at most.
Article 6
Kid’s College undertakes to deliver the services purchased properly and within the agreed period, with the effort that may reasonably be expected.
Article 7
The success of the services provided by Kid’s College depends on the cooperation and/or abilities of the student. Consequently, Kid’s College cannot be held liable for disappointing results.
Article 8
The agreement is entered into subject to the resolutive condition that there are, and continue to be, enough students and that a supervisor is available.
Article 9
Registration for homework support and tutoring takes place in the order in which the registration forms are received. Students who are already registered with Kid’s College are given priority in placement for the coming school year.
Article 10
If there are not enough students or not enough supervisors, or for other reasons, Kid’s College may at any time end the agreement early or in the interim, with immediate effect.
Article 11
The support lasts for a minimum of two calendar months. After that, unless cancelled in good time, it is extended by operation of law, each time by one calendar month.
Article 12
The student’s support can only be ended by written notice from the parent/guardian, with a notice period of one calendar month. Notice can only be given with effect from the first day of a calendar month.
Article 13
The rate for the support is a monthly rate for the chosen number of support days and applies from September up to and including June of the following calendar year. No support is given during the Christmas holidays and on official public holidays. In setting the rate, the school holidays that apply to secondary education on Bonaire have been taken into account. A holiday period in the months of September up to and including June therefore does not lead to a reduction of the monthly rate.
Article 14
Kid’s College is closed during the summer holidays. Kid’s College determines and communicates the exact closure and reopening dates each year. In 2027, Kid’s College reopens on 17 August 2027.
Article 15
No registration fee is charged on registration for homework support and tutoring.
Article 16
The support fee must be paid to Kid’s College within 14 days of the invoice date. All signatories of the registration form are jointly and severally liable for payment of the support fee and all additional amounts. If payment is not made on time, participation in the support may be refused.
Article 17
All prices include 6% ABB, unless expressly stated otherwise.
Article 18
Kid’s College accepts payments by bank only; paying in cash is not possible.
Article 19
The student and his or her parent/guardian undertake to provide correct details and to pass on changes to them in good time, for the purposes of invoicing and contact.
Article 20
If payment is not made on time, the debtor is in default by operation of law. Kid’s College is then entitled, without further notice, to take collection measures, if necessary by engaging third parties. All extrajudicial and judicial costs, as well as interest of 1% per month, are borne by the signatories of the registration form.
Article 21
There is no right to a reduction, waiver or refund of the support fee if the student makes no use, or only limited use, of the support. Nor is there any right to set-off, deduction or suspension of payment.
Article 22
The parent/guardian brings and collects the child on time. If someone else brings and/or collects the child on his or her behalf, the parent/guardian informs Kid’s College of this in good time.
Article 23
Kid’s College is (subject to mandatory law) only liable for damage and costs arising during or in connection with the performance of the agreement if and in so far as the damage is the result of intent and/or gross negligence on the part of Kid’s College and its staff. Kid’s College can never be held liable for damage and costs, from whatever cause, for a sum higher than the support fee owed for one month.
Article 24
The intellectual property rights in the support materials remain with Kid’s College at all times. Use of the support materials of Kid’s College and/or LEGO® Education other than for the student’s own study is not permitted, nor is copying, selling or handing them over to third parties.
Article 25
Kid’s College is not liable for loss of or damage to personal belongings during the student’s visit to Kid’s College.
Article 26
A student may be suspended for persistent disruptive and/or uncooperative behaviour. The monthly amount already paid is not refunded.
Article 27
When visiting Kid’s College, the student undertakes to observe generally accepted standards of politeness and proper conduct. The use of drugs and/or alcohol, the use of coarse language and/or treating supervisors and/or other students disrespectfully may lead to suspension as provided in article 26.
Article 28
Kid’s College reserves the right to amend the general terms and conditions. The amendments take effect at the announced time. Kid’s College will give notice of this in good time.
